London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.


The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games take place in London. The city is preparing to receive large numbers of visitors, as the holding period from 17 July to 12 August. Olympic venues are divided into three parts: Olympic Park, River area and the Central area.


1. Olympic Park: is located in Stratford, east London. Be built on an industrial area and is seven minutes from downtown. This area will be located:

  • The Olympic Stadium which will host the athletics events and opening and closing ceremonies. Is located at Marshgate Lane in Stratford in the Lower Lea Valley. The start of construction of the stadium was the May 22, 2008. The stadium design was launched on November 7, 2007.  Trafalgar Square is one of the most important and lively places of central London. It was created in 1830 to commemorate the victory of the British navy against the Spanish and French at the Battle of Trafalgar.


Kensington Palace, located in Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace was the residence of the British monarchy for over 300 years. Over the years, Kensington Palace has welcomed generations of the royal family since William III, to Lady Diana, to Queen Victoria.


City Hall, located on the south bank of the Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, the City of London is a strange building that serves as the Assembly chamber and offices for the main authorities of the city.


The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament, is a Victorian Gothic building that houses the two houses that make up the British Parliament.





 Westminster Abbey is London's most famous temple. Chosen as the venue for royal coronations, the abbey also houses the tombs of monarchs and British historical figures of the last thousand years.



The London Underground is a network of electric railway public transport that works both above and below ground throughout the Greater London area. It is the transportation system of this type world's oldest. Became operational on January 10 of 1863.
